Details:
Champagne garnets always strike me a rather magical with their light open tone and color change. These are all from a parcel of alluvial pebbles from Morogoro, Tanzania. We tested them with the Raman and they came back as a combination of spessartine, almandine & pyrope, making them imperial garnets, but it should be noted that they are not UV reactive so you won’t find hidden Dragon Garnets among them.
Good shape for weight retention with a kite, shield or oval cut. This stone's color is a lovely champagne, but do note the clarity features listed below. While the stone’s price takes those features into account, it is likely that in a cut stone, they will be hardly noticeable.
Total Weight grams: 1.54 gm
Total Weight Carats: 7.7 cts
Dimensions: 12 x 9 x 6
Notes: Some light x’ed silk visible in microscope, and 4 shallow sugar wisps. These features are not surface reaching, but may be a challenge to cut out without excessive loss of weight. **per carat price reduced to reflect these features**
Origin: Morogoro, Tanzania
