Details:

You probably agree with us that every gemstone is special, but even we have to admit some have extra-special magic about them. This gem falls into that category.

You may be aware of Tanzanite already, and expect a deep blue/purple gem made famous by Tiffany’s. Such Tanzanites owe their color to heat, either from natural processes in the earth, or as is more common today, from heat treatment after cutting. While heat can bring out those darker colors, it often hides the incredible pleochroism inherent in natural Tanzanite.

Natural Tanzanites show 3 different hues depending on the direction you view them from. A talented gem-cutter can bring these hues together so you can see them simultaneously. There is no doubt that Garrett Simard is a very talented gem cutter, and this Tanzanite offers up its cacophony of subtle purples, blues and yellows. A very special gem for the connoisseur or for anyone willing to to field the inevitable questions they’ll get about this amazing gem.
